This is the second post in my Manicure Necessities series and it is about nail care. If you missed the first post you can read it here.
Just like when it comes to makeup, as far as nails are concerned the base is extremely important. In this case, when I say “base” I am referring to the nails. They have to be healthy. I think that it is more important to have healthy-looking nails than it is to have a colorful manicure.
And for that, you need to take care of them and protect them. What you eat does have an influence on that, but it’s also important to help your nail stay healthy using nail care polishes, solutions, and oils.
There is no oil in this post because I finished what I had and did not purchase a new one. So far I don’t miss it so I decided to leave it at that.
In this post, you can see what I have in my collection. I have two that can be applied simply as nail polishes and one that actually is incompatible with nail polishes because it is a treatment.
The first 2 I apply when I don’t want colorful nails and the latest when I know I won’t apply nail polish for at least 1 week.
I rarely use the treatment, maybe twice a year. It is a product they I buy from Romania so I like to always have it. I don’t know if it has a dupe made by a different company so I stick to it.
It is a great treatment if you have nails that are exfoliating and breaking easily. It takes about two “rounds” to see the result but it really does work, therefore I recommend it with all my heart.
What nail care products do you have in your collection? Which one is your favorite? How many nail care products do you have? Do you use all of them?
This post is part of a series called Manicure Necessities. You can find the links for all the posts in the series here.

I am so hard on my nails and they still look healthy only because of the fact that I am blessed with healthy nails… my nail lady keeps trying to get me to use a cuticle oil, so I may have to work that into my routine soon!

It does help. But if you don’t like using an oil you can apply a thicker layer of your favorite hand creme around the nails and leave it for 2 minutes before massaging it into the skin. It has almost the same effect.
Great post! My nails are so weak from a life long nail biting habit. I’m going to have to look for this.

Yes, give either of these 3 a try. I think that, unfortunately, the solution (which is very, very efficient) can’t be found outside Romania. It is produced by a Romanian company but if you find it somewhere online don’t hesitate to purchase it. It has great result if you use it constantly.
I am so bad with nails! My nails start to chip the very next day! Need to try this!

You definitely should. A good base and a good nail care nail polish can make your nails look and actually be healthier.
As far as chipping is concerned a good top coat makes a world of difference. I’ll have a post on those as well later in the series.
But I recomment you buy essence better than gel nails top coat. It worked great for me.
