I am always on the lookout for the perfect eyeshadow. In this post, I am reviewing one of my go-to eyeshadows. Keep reading to see why.
Over the years I became more and more interested in simplifying the makeup process. Always trying to find the best solution to look my best with as little effort as possible.
And a major part in that it is played by eyeshadow. The right shade compliments your eye color making it stand out. I have blue/gray eyes and I am usually looking for eyeshadows that bring out their blue shade, not the gray one.
The two shades that I am reviewing today do just that: accentuate the color of my eyes.
Characteristics
Official Description: These vibrant, super-saturated eye shadows stay true all day. The ink technology creates super-saturated color. Cream gel smooths on for vibrant color that does not fade. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Shades: Purple: 70 – Metallic Pomegranate
Gold: 05 – Eternal Gold
How it applies:
Purple: the color is saturated from the first layer.
Gold: I feel like I need to apply a second layer for the color to be as saturated as I want it.
How it looks: Purple: exactly like in the jar
Gold: The color is less vibrant
Longevity: Both: all day long
Purple: stays put all day
Gold: it creases slightly after about 6 hours but it stays put
Pros: Good pigmentation for both, great price for their quality.
Cons: I don’t like the fact that they are in a jar.
Purple: The brush gets really dirty when using it and you can’t apply it with your fingers if you have long nails.
Gold: It creases slightly, it needs 2 layers to look like in the jar.
Availability: in drugstores
My thoughts
If I recommend these? Definitely. They last for a long time without smudging and they are the best in their price range.
I did write in the Characteristics that the golden one is not saturated. But please remember that that is a common issue for all yellow shades. This one is by far the most pigmented yellow eyeshadow I ever tried. And I did try quite a few.
The Pomegranate one is a perfect eyeshadow: long-lasting, very pigmented and quite budget friendly. Awesome for blue and green eyes.
The only downside to these products is the packaging. I don’t like the fact that they are in jars because it makes it difficult to take the product out if you have long nails.
Of course, you can always use a brush but you can only use it one time and then you have to wash it. A brush spray won’t do, so it is quite time-consuming.
Did you try either of these eyeshadows? Did you try any other shade than the ones I have? Do you have a favorite eyeshadow? What is your opinion about them being in a jar? Do you think that is inconvenient or it doesn’t bother you?
